Offer reporting
Find the discounts that are buying back people who were never leaving.
Every offer in your library, positioned by what it actually saves against what it costs you to run. The ones in the bottom-left are margin you can have back. A control group is what makes those positions worth acting on.
Offers positioned by what they save against what they cost. An illustration, not a customer result.
A live control group
A slice of qualifying subscribers sees no offer at all, so there is always something to compare against. You can switch it off; we would rather you did not.
- On by default; you choose the size, or switch it off
- Runs continuously, not as a one-off experiment you forget to restart
- Shown as a dashed control line on every chart it applies to
- Excluded from offer budgets, so the control group costs nothing to maintain
Numbers that survive a finance review
Retained revenue, net of what the offers cost, against what would have happened anyway.
- Measured against the control group, not gross accepted-offer value
- Offer cost subtracted, including the cost of a discount that runs for months
- Do saves stick: whether a saved subscriber is still there later, or just left slower
- A month-by-month P&L view, exportable as CSV
Tested, not guessed
Anything the flow decides can be tested against an alternative.
- A/B tests on thresholds, offers and copy, with the control group still underneath
- Save composition: which offers are doing the work and which are decoration
- Reason segmentation, so you can see what is actually driving cancellations
- A live feed of sessions, so you can watch a decision happen
The arithmetic
A hundred people who tried to cancel
Ninety were offered something. Ten deliberately were not. The difference is the only number worth reporting.
Offered an offer · 90
53 stayed · 37 left anyway
Held back · 10
1 stayed with no offer at all
Because 10% of the held-back group stayed without being offered anything, roughly 9 of those 53 were never leaving — and the discount they took is margin you can get back. That is what positions every offer on the chart above.
